Getting the size right

Measure at the end of the day when fingers are slightly larger, and size up a touch for wider bands, which fit more snugly. The ring should clear the knuckle with light resistance. A plain gold band is the easiest to wear daily, while stone-set and signet designs make more of a statement.

Gold plating lasts longer away from friction and chemicals, so take rings off for the gym, manual work and swimming, and wipe them with a soft dry cloth. Store them apart so they don't scratch.
