A 38–42cm chain sits close to the collarbone, while 45cm and longer gives more drop and layers well. A fine chain suits everyday wear and pairs with a pendant of your choice, while a longer or pendant style makes more of a feature. Keep the metal tone consistent if you plan to layer.

Keep necklaces away from perfume and water, store them flat and apart so they don't tangle, and wipe them with a soft dry cloth. Sterling silver darkens over time, which a polishing cloth fixes.
